I get a lot of people who see my prep clients and say, "I want to look like that."
Then, they get frustrated when it doesn't happen as quickly as they'd like.
The fact is, most of the country is overweight.
If you are coming from a place of being overweight, first you need to get in shape. Then, you can work on getting ripped.
Eating to get into shape and eating to be ripped are two totally different things.
If you are trying to lose weight and get healthy, do not burn yourself out counting your macros and timing your carbs. It's not going to help the fat melt off any faster. You're just going to get discouraged and burned out.
Instead, focus on eating in a caloric deficit and eating enough protein to preserve muscle.
What does this look like?
Let's keep it simple.
Guys, keep your calories under 2200 a day and consume around 200g of protein a day to lose 2 or so pounds a week. Start building a lifting weights habit. This is more than enough to get you started.
Ladies, 1500-1700 calories a day, and 130 grams of protein will work wonders!
If your goal is to get healthy, don't complicate it. Keep your lifestyle change simple so you can stick to it. After all, what good is a diet if you can't be consistent with it?
